The Client
Colourscape Studio — a Vadodara-based fine art practice by Rhea D'Souza, built on creativity, femininity and storytelling through oil, acrylic and gouache paintings.
The Problem
The studio lived entirely on Instagram, with artwork sales and course enrolments handled through DMs. It needed a credible digital home that served both collectors and students, plus a reliable way to fill each course batch.
Phase 1: Website
Built a gallery-first, colour-led five page website with framed artwork previews, an artist story, a dedicated courses page, and WhatsApp-first commission enquiry paths.
Phase 2: Meta Ads
Launched full-funnel Meta campaigns using raw studio reels and finished artwork stills across Instagram and Facebook Reels and Feeds, with instant lead forms for course sign-ups.
The Outcome
640+ painting course leads at ₹38.40 CPL, 1.4L+ reach across Gujarat and metro India, and a steady enrolment pipeline feeding every new batch.

Website Development
Strategy & Approach
Playful Fine-Art Identity
A bright, feminine visual language — candy-pink navigation, warm multi-stop gradients and a bold italic display serif — mirroring the emotive, colour-led nature of Rhea's paintings.
Gallery-First Layout
The homepage reads like a curated exhibition: an editorial hero with framed artwork previews and medium/size captions, then story, gallery and course sections in natural viewing order.
Dual-Intent Conversion Path
Two equal-weight CTAs separate the audiences — View the gallery for collectors and Explore the courses for students — plus a persistent WhatsApp button for commissions.
Image Performance Tuning
Every artwork is served as optimized WebP with lazy loading and fixed aspect ratios, keeping colour fidelity high while the gallery stays fast on mobile data.
Responsive Design
The website is fully responsive with optimized layouts for mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.

Challenges & Solutions
Showing Colour Accurately On Every Screen
Problem
Paintings lose vibrancy when compressed, and the brand lives entirely on colour.
Solution
Exported artwork as high-quality WebP with per-image compression, neutral off-white surfaces around each frame, and no overlays on thumbnails.
Serving Collectors And Students On One Site
Problem
Buyers want to browse originals; learners want course details — a single CTA would lose half the traffic.
Solution
Two equal-weight gradient CTAs in the hero and separate Gallery and Courses navigation so each intent lands in one click.
Playful Without Losing Credibility
Problem
A bright pink, gradient-heavy palette can read as amateur for a fine-art practice.
Solution
Anchored the colour with a classical italic serif, generous whitespace, museum-style captions and an exhibition credentials strip.

Balancing an Art Practice's Two Very Different Audiences
Rhea D'Souza's studio had built a genuine following on Instagram, but that following served two audiences with opposite intents: collectors evaluating originals for purchase, and prospective students trying to figure out whether a painting course was worth their time. A single DM-based process worked when volume was low, but it blurred both journeys together and made it hard to fill each new course batch predictably.
The website's first draft treated the gallery as the clear priority, since original artwork carried a higher price point. Once live, it became obvious that most visitor intent was actually course-related, so we rebalanced the homepage to give the courses page equal visual weight to the gallery, with its own dedicated CTA rather than being nested under a general 'learn more' link.
On the ads side, we started with polished, finished-painting stills, which performed fine but didn't fully convey Rhea's process, so we introduced raw studio reels showing works in progress. Those quickly became the stronger performers, and the campaign shifted toward a mix of process footage and finished pieces feeding an instant lead form built specifically for course sign-ups. Studios and creators with a similar two-track offering can see how our Meta Ads campaigns are built to serve both audiences without diluting either.
Key Takeaways
- Separate the buying journey from the learning journey — one funnel cannot serve collectors and students equally.
- Let observed visitor intent, not price point, decide which offer gets primary placement on the homepage.
- Process footage outperformed finished-work stills for a creative practice built on craft.
- An instant lead form dedicated to course enquiries removed the bottleneck of DM-based sign-ups.
- A gallery-grade website gave the paid campaigns a credible destination to send traffic to.
